How do I purchase a gift certificate?

What amounts can I choose from?
Gift certificates are available starting at $50. You can choose any preset amount or request a custom value.
How is the gift certificate delivered?
All certificates are delivered as an eGift Card. You can send by text or email to yourself or your recipient with a personalized message.
How does the recipient redeem their gift certificate?
They simply email us with their gift certificate code and preferred dates. We’ll confirm availability and apply the gift amount toward their stay.
Can the gift certificate be used for any Kern River House property?
Yes! Gift certificates may be used for stays at The Meander, Big View House, River WIllow Cabin, Lookout House, Tukaway Cabin, River’s Edge Cottage or Moon☾Shine Trailer, based on availability.
Do gift certificates expire?
Gift certificates are valid for 24 months from the purchase date.
Can a gift certificate be used across multiple stays?
Yes. If the recipient’s booking total is less than the gift amount, the remaining balance can be applied to future stays until it’s fully used.
Are there blackout dates?
Peak holidays and high-demand weekends may have limited availability, so early booking is recommended. If certain dates are not open, we’ll work with the recipient to find the best option.
Can gift certificates be combined with other promotions or discounts?
Yes, gift certificates may be applied toward any stay, regardless of seasonal promotions (unless the promo states otherwise).
Can I buy a physical gift certificate?
At the moment, we offer digital certificates only, but you’re welcome to print the PDF for gifting.
Are gift certificates refundable?
Gift certificate purchases are non-refundable, but they remain fully transferable — you may gift them to someone else if needed.
What if the recipient books through Airbnb?
Most redemptions happen through direct booking with us. If the guest prefers Airbnb, we can apply the gift amount manually (such as through a special offer or partial refund). We’ll walk them through it!
